Privacy policy
Version of 1er octobre 2026. It applies to accounts created on Seuil and to the exchanges that take place on it.
Who is responsible
Seuil is published by Pierre Marie Turpin, WordPress developer. For any questions about your data: contact@pierreturpin.org.
What you can do without an account
Searching, filtering, comparing and saving favourites require no account. These choices, as well as the demo accounts, stay in your browser's local storage: they are not sent to the server.
Account data
Account: name, email address, password (stored in encrypted form, unreadable even to us), language, notification choices, date you accepted this policy.
Personal space: favourites and notes, saved searches and alerts, flatshare profile, declared income and the list of documents in your rental application file. Seuil stores no files from your application: you simply indicate which documents you have.
Exchanges: messages, applications and booked viewings. For landlords: published listings and photos.
Security: to limit abuse (mass sign-ups, login attempts), a non-reversible fingerprint of your IP address is kept for a few minutes to a few hours.
Why, and on what basis
Running the service you request (account, messaging, applications, viewings, publishing listings): performance of a contract.
Sending you the alerts you have created and the notifications from your space: your request, which you can withdraw at any time (unsubscribe link, My account settings).
Protecting the site against abuse: legitimate interest.
No advertising, no audience measurement tools, no resale of data.
Who sees what
When you write, apply or book a viewing, the landlord concerned sees your first name and the initial of your surname, your message, how complete your rental application file is and, for an application, the income you have declared.
For an imported agency listing, your message is sent by email to the agency with your name and address, so that they can reply to you directly.
The site is hosted in Switzerland by Infomaniak Network SA, a country recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection. Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap's servers, which receive your browser's IP address in order to display the map.
How long
Account: until you delete it, or after three years without logging in (you are notified 30 days beforehand).
Applications and viewings: 12 months. Messages: 24 months. Withdrawn listings: 30 days before deletion.
Cookies and local storage
Seuil only sets a technical login cookie when you are logged in. The browser's local storage keeps your preferences (theme, current searches, demo). None of this is used to track you.
Your rights
You can access your data, correct it, erase it, obtain it in a machine-readable format, object to processing or request its restriction.
From My space, under My account: change your name, language and notifications, download all your data (JSON file) or delete your account immediately.
You can also write to contact@pierreturpin.org. In the event of disagreement, you can refer the matter to the CNIL in France, or to the data protection authority in your country (in Luxembourg, the CNPD).
